Holly Shotter Branch Manager

Tell me about your travel background

I started at Premier Travel Huntingdon as a trainee in April 2000; I have remained in the branch and worked my way up - first to Senior Travel Consultant, then Assistant Manager and finally Branch Manager in 2013.

Why do you love working in travel?

I love the variety working as a Travel Agent gives me. One client may be booking a coach ticket and the next a once in a lifetime trip. I enjoy interacting with clients and getting to know their needs and preferences. Having worked at Huntingdon branch for over 15 years, I know our regular clients well and most on first name terms.

Where have you travelled to?

Hurghada, Madeira, Malta, Cyprus, Majorca, Portugal, Italy, the Canary Islands and many more European cities. I have also been on 5 cruises covering the Med extensively, Norway and the Caribbean. I have been fortunate enough to experience Malaysia and Thailand too.

Where are you off to next & why?

Two trips to Centre Parcs, a P&O Mini Cruise with friends and Portugal with family.

Travel wish list

I thoroughly enjoyed visiting Thailand a few years ago - it's a very diverse country, the hustle and bustle of Bangkok is fantastic and the temples are amazing. I've never seen beaches and scenery like that before either. It's such a friendly place and such great value for money, everything makes me want to go back and I would love to return with my husband for a holiday together.

Favourite holiday destination & why?

I love cruising because you get to see so many different places and only unpack the once. I have sailed with various cruise lines and enjoy experiencing what the different ships have to offer.

Favourite travel memory & why?

There are so many to choose from so my top three are:
My husband proposing to me in Dubrovnik, Croatia on our first cruise.
Feeding elephants at Elephant Hills in Thailand – being able to get so close to the animals was a fantastic experience, interacting with them was something amazing that I've never had an opportunity to do before.
Standing at Menin Gate for the Last Post to mark those who died in the First World War.

Top travel tip?

Book as early as possible so you have the best choice of availability and generally the best prices.

Book with me because

I will strive to find you the holiday that suits you and your needs. If I do not know something, I will work to find the answer for you.

Never travel without

This one is hard for me, because I cannot travel light and end up taking everything including the kitchen sink. So much so, that we ended up paying over £100 in excess luggage fees for our Caribbean Cruise Honeymoon!
