Tell us about your travel background:

“I started working in travel in 1985 and joined Premier Travel in 1991, where I’ve been ever since! I have always been based at the Rose Crescent branch until we moved across to our new base at Sidney Street this year.”

What do you love about working in the travel industry?

“I love working with the public and learning about new destinations; I get lots of inspiration for my own holidays too!”

Where have you travelled to?

Several of the Greek islands; Rhodes, Zante, Corfu, as well as Athens and mainland Greece. I’ve also been to Cyprus, the Canary Islands, the Balearic islands, Thailand, Mauritius, Australia, North America (New York, Washington, Nashville, Tennessee, Florida) all of the Channel islands, lots of European cities such as Brugge and Florence and I also go to Cornwall every year – I love it down there!

Where are you off to next?

“I’m off to Cyprus for my summer holiday, this year I’m going to the Nissi Beach area. I went 20 years ago and am looking forward to going back – we hired a car last time and travelled all around the area, up into the mountains. It’s very scenic and there’s lots of great beaches there.”

Favourite holiday destination?

“Mauritius, for the lovely people, amazing food and beautiful scenery. Australia for the adventure side – white water rafting, snorkelling on the Barrier Reef and taking a hot air balloon ride from Port Douglas right over Queensland.”

Book with me because….

“I would never sell anything that’s not right for the client; if it’s not going to suit them or be what they want, I’ll look at the other alternative options until I find what’s right for them.”

Travel Bucket list:

“Egypt, Dubai, and I’d love to do a Garden Route safari in South Africa.”

Favourite travel memory:

“Diving in the Great Barrier Reef in Australia; we were able to see and handle the wildlife up close which was amazing – it’s definitely something you don’t get to do every day and something you may not have the opportunity to do elsewhere.”

Top Travel Tip:

“when abroad, eat where the locals eat – even if it means you have to go a little further off the beaten track. You’ll have a much more traditional and cultural experience than at any of the tourist haunts.”

Never travel without….

“Insect repellent! And after-sun in case you burn”.
