Fred. Olsen’s smaller, more intimate ships enable you to get closer to your destination with fewer shuttles, more time in port and more overnight stays. They are renowned for their friendly, personal service and the atmosphere on board is very much that of a ‘British country house’.
With plenty of special offers, including reduced and zero supplements, it is also the perfect cruise line for solo travellers, with single occupancy cabins, daily ‘get togethers’ and even dance hosts on board so you will always have a dancing partner.
Dining on board is in two sittings where tables and times are fixed; there is, however, a more casual, open sitting in the ship’s buffet restaurant as well as in the speciality restaurants. There are generally two to three formal nights on a two-week cruise, with the remaining nights smart casual; there may also be themed nights whilst you are on board. Their award-winning evening entertainment consists of a variety of musicians and singers, from classical to pop, magicians, entertainers and Broadway style shows.
Fred. Olsen’s award-winning itineraries (they have won the Cruise Critic Award for Best Itineraries for the last three years in a row) vary in duration, from 5-night short breaks to longer world cruises, sailing from five different ports around the UK including Southampton, Dover, Newcastle, Edinburgh (Rosyth) and Liverpool. They also offer an extensive fly-cruise programme to various destinations further afield including India, Arabia, Africa, Australia, Thailand, Indonesia and the Indian Ocean.
Currency on board is GBP and, for your convenience, a discretionary tip is automatically added to your cruise account at the end of your holiday. However, guests may adjust gratuities while on board if they prefer.
