Top of the must-do list is to ride the cable car to the summit of majestic Table Mountain, visit Robben Island where Nelson Mandela and many other political activists were imprisoned, admire the historic Bo-Kaap enclave with its vividly painted houses and the bustling Victoria and Alfred (V&A) Waterfront. No trip to Cape Town is complete without spending a day exploring the spectacular Cape Peninsula and its dramatic coastline. It’s a mecca for outdoor enthusiasts where you can get up close and personal with fascinating wildlife, including penguins at Boulders Beach.

2 nights – FranschhoekOriginally settled in 1688 by French Huguenot refugees who introduced their age-old wine and food culture, today Franschhoek has some of the country’s best wineries and an impressive selection of world-class restaurants. A fun way to explore is to hop on the wine tram which shuttles you between a variety of boutique wineries, family-run farms and sprawling estates. Make time to browse the shops and galleries that line this lovely town’s quaint streets.

3 nights – Kruger National ParkExperience Kruger National Park, one of the world’s most famous game reserves covering an area the size of Wales and home to all of Africa’s iconic species - elephant, lion, leopard, cheetah, rhino, buffalo, giraffe, hippo and zebra. At the Elephant Walk Tented Camp, which offers breathtaking views into Kruger National Park, enjoy one game drive per day in an open top four-wheel drive usually with just six guests and led by an experienced, knowledgeable ranger. There may also be the option of bush walks or walking safaris.
